The Foredeck consists of the Capstans loading derricks for Holds 1 and 2, plus two Water Tank Wagons and two Coal Tender Wagons starboard and port sides. The two main Stainer 8 Locomotive steam engines were situated either-side of Hold 4, where the Heinkel bombs hit the ship, both engines were blown-off – each weighing 126 tons each – and rest about 30 metres away port and starboard of the hull.
